The Cloud Credential Council releases Executive FedRAMP certification course with leading government cloud expert Kevin L. Jackson.
Palo Alto, USA - June
23rd, 2014 – Addressing
the global cloud skills gap is the number one priority to help accelerate the
successful adoption of Cloud, according to the Cloud Credential Council. To
address the skills gap specifically related to FedRAMP, the Cloud Credential
Council has released an online course and exam for FedRAMP authored by leading government cloud
expert Kevin L. Jackson.
The Federal Risk and Authorization
Management Program (FedRAMP) is a government-wide program that provides a
standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous
monitoring for cloud products and services.
Federal Agencies, Third-Party
Assessment Organizations (3PAO), Cloud Service Providers (CSP) all need to have
deep knowledge about FedRAMP. As of June 5th 2014 it is a
requirement for CSPs to be #FedRAMP compliant. There are many organizations that
are not yet FedRamp compliant, primarily caused by the lack of knowledge around the processes, requirements and value
of FedRAMP compliancy. The Cloud Credential Council is addressing this crucial gap
with a new certification course developed together with leading Government
Cloud expert Kevin L. Jackson, CEO & Founder of
GovCloud Network.
Marcel Heilijgers,
Executive Director of the Cloud Credential Council said: “Kevin L. Jackson’s deep
knowledge of FedRAMP, combined with his vast government cloud experience gained
through senior positions at SENTEL, JP Morgan Chase, IBM, NJVC and
collaboration with organizations such as GSA, NIST,
DHS, DOD, NSA, OMB, and the Federal CIO Council, ensures that we have the best expertise
in place to address this crucial topic.”
According to Kevin L.
Jackson, author of the certification course: “This course will help executives
understand the processes, requirements and value of FedRAMP certification.
Given the mandatory nature of FedRAMP this certification is a must-have for all
government and industry IT executives.”
A description can be
found here: http://www.cloudcredential.org/certifications/efc/. The course and exam
can be taken anywhere, anytime across the globe and is available starting today
at: http://www.cloudcredential.org/cloud-store/. Besides this online
certification course specific to FedRAMP, general CCC Professional
certification courses released and due for release this year such as CCC
Professional Cloud Solutions Architect and CCC Professional Cloud Security
Manager will also include FedRAMP as one of the topics. Training partners and
Trainers/Instructors interested in adopting the Professional tracks are
encouraged to contact the Cloud Credential Council for accreditation.

GovCloud Founder and Veteran's 360 Showcased in US Veteran's Magazine
Kevin L. Jackson, CEO and Founder of GovCloud Network, LLC, was showcased in US Veteran's Magazine for his work with Veteran's 360, a San Diego, California non-profit.
With more than 30,000 troops return to civilian life after serving the country, Vets360 helps them through this sometimes difficult transition by providing training designed to provide skills that will ensure long-term success in the future job market. With eyes on that future, and after extensive research,Veterans 360 decided that cloud technology was a perfect venue for veterans looking for meaningful employment and a long-term career.
Working with The National Cloud Technology Association and the Cloud Credential Council, Mr. Jackson developed a custom course for this new endeavor. Jackson is well known from his contributions to the industry and his innovative “Cloud Musings” blog, recognized as one of the world’s 30 most influential cloud blogs. A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Jackson brings stellar credentials, insight and influence to the Veterans 360 training program, located in San Diego, California. Veterans 360-Cloud, Sylvan Learning and the Workforce Investment Board will be providing the training for veterans.
Mr. Jackson's appearance in this issue is sort of a encore with the well known television personality, radio talk show host, and actor Montel Williams. In 1996 the two US Naval Academy graduates teamed up on "Black Wings - A Chronicle of African Americans in Aviation". Kevin Jackson served as the lead researcher and Mr. Williams narrated the SSB Inc and Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum produced multi-media CDROM.
US Veteran's Magazine is available online at http://www.usveteransmagazine.com/. You can also CLICK HERE to download a digital copy of this issue (http://online.publicationprinters.com/launch.aspx?eid=098434e5-0e79-4ed2-bbe2-e3bbba1bcbda).

Cloud Environment Can Enable Fast, Secure Collaboration among Industries, Nations
NCOIC’s
Kevin Jackson to present new process for creating interoperability via a cyber-secure
multi-cloud environment at cloud computing conferences in the U.S. and China
WASHINGTON—June
4, 2014—Cyber-secure
cloud computing can help both businesses and governments improve their ability
to collaborate with non-traditional partners so they can quickly and
cost-effectively tackle complex problems. That’s the message Kevin Jackson of
the Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium will deliver to world
technology leaders this month.
Jackson
is scheduled to present an open process developed by NCOIC to facilitate
cross-domain interoperability and secure information sharing among different
systems and users at Cloud
Expo
in New York on June 10 and at the World
Congress of Cloud Computing in Dalian, China on June 20.
Known
as the NCOIC Rapid Response Capability (NRRC™), the new process defines how to build and manage
a federated cloud computing platform that provides a foundation for sharing information
within a secure environment, enabling a diverse group of users to exchange data
via their different technology applications.
“The
NRRC process can support a wide range of operational and business needs, like humanitarian
assistance, disaster response, supply chain management and other instances
where different groups must come together quickly to address a complex
situation or common mission,” says Jackson. “The consortium has shown how the
power of the cloud can be used to share critical, life-saving information in an
emergency situation. Now we have developed a more general set of checklists,
rules and patterns that promotes secure and reliable data exchange.”
Jackson
will discuss the disaster-response simulation NCOIC held last September for the
National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. During the real-time demonstration, he
built a federated cloud environment in a matter of minutes so users in a
virtual organization could quickly collect, store and share geospatial data.
A cloud
computing expert, Jackson specializes in
information technology solutions that meet U.S. government operational
requirements. He serves on the team that developed the NRRC process
and leads NCOIC master practitioners who can assist businesses, governments and
non-government organizations in implementing their interoperable cloud
computing platforms. In addition, Jackson oversees the activities of the NCOIC
Cloud Computing Working Group.
Jackson
is founder of GovCloud Network, editor of GovernmentCloud Computing electronic magazine and author of two books on cloud
computing. Prior to joining NCOIC, he was vice president and general manager of
Cloud Services at NJVC. He also served in various senior management positions at the National Reconnaissance Office, Sirius Computer
Solutions, IBM, JP Morgan Chase and SENTEL Corporation. During his career with
the U.S. Navy, Jackson held specialties in command and control and space systems
engineering while accumulating over 2500 hours and 230 carrier landings flying
E-2C and C-2A aircraft.
For
more information on the NCOIC Rapid Response Capability open process, go to www.ncoic.org/technology/deliverables/NRRC/.
The
Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium (www.ncoic.org) works to enable cross-domain
interoperability in and between such areas as aerospace, civil and military
operations, air traffic management, health care and more. NCOIC is an
international not-for-profit organization with more than 50 members and
advisors representing businesses, government agencies and organizations in 12
countries. It has a 10-year history of developing world-class skills and tools
that help its members and customers operate effectively across diverse global
market sectors and domains.
